Elder Law

Upon obtaining The Osgoode Certificate in Elder Law in May 2015, Ms. Woods refocused her twenty years of experience in wills, trusts, estate administration, real estate and collaborative law in the area of older adults. She now advises and assists in a wide range of legal matters affecting this growing segment of our population including:

  • health and personal care planning,
  • powers of attorney,
  • family issues,
  • fiduciary (financial) representation,
  • housing opportunities and financing, and
  • income and estate matters.

Elder Law includes all aspects of counselling, education, planning and advocating for clients with an understanding that the needs of these clients may extend beyond basic legal services. From both professional and personal experience, Ms. Woods is particularly sensitive to the legal issues impacting older clients and associates with a network of like-minded individuals and companies offering complementary services to older adults.
